Synopsis
Public Safety
In a world where "demons" are prevalent in everyday life, a young boy named Denji makes a living as a "Devil Hunter" by exterminating demons with Pochita, a "chainsaw demon", to pay off his dead father's debt. In order to pay off his dead father's debt, a young boy named Denji earns a living as a "Devil Hunter" who exterminates demons with Pochita, a "chainsaw demon. However, their debts did not decrease, and although they wished for a normal life, they could never reach it. One day, Denji is tricked by a yakuza who was offering him a job, and he and Pochita are killed by the "zombie demon. However, Pochita is revived by drinking Denji's blood and becomes Denji's heart in exchange for a contract. The resurrected Denji gains the power to transform into the "Chainsaw Demon" and wipes out the group of zombies. Denji is guided by Makima, a devil hunter from the Public Safety Bureau, who arrives on the scene and takes control of him.
Denji moves to the Public Safety Headquarters in Tokyo, and under Makima's orders, he moves in with his senior, Aki Hayakawa, and Power, the "Blood Fiend" who was selected as Denji's buddy. The Public Security Bureau has been collecting pieces of flesh from gun demons scattered around the world, with the goal of defeating the "Gun Demon" that once killed 1.1 million people in seven minutes. On the other hand, demons who follow the Gun Demon, humans who have made a contract with the Gun Demon, and "those who are neither human nor demon" like Denji are after Denji's heart.
Worldview
"A world in which demons, monsters driven by human fear, are commonplace and recognizable. 1997 is stated in the story, but it does not necessarily correspond to real world history, as the Soviet Union has not yet collapsed.
Terms
Demon
A monster beyond human comprehension that is born with the names of all things, including plants, animals, and concepts. It is said that the more humans fear or dislike its name, the more powerful it becomes. By replenishing the blood of any species, it can maintain or increase its power and rapidly recover from damage. They have the ability to possess and manipulate living people, and to take over human corpses to become "demons". It is said that demons instinctively dislike humans and always want them to die and suffer, while demons with a human-like appearance are relatively friendly to humans.
According to the testimony of angelic demons, demons are reincarnated between the human world and hell, and as long as their names are feared, even if they die in one world, they can be resurrected in the other. When reincarnating, memories are not passed on. However, all demons under the control of the Singularity Division have heard a sound that seems to be that of a chainsaw engine just before they died in Hell.
Humans can make a contract with demons to use or borrow their power for a price. The more powerful the demon, the stronger the contract needs to be, but if the demon likes you, you can make a contract with him for a small price or borrow his power.
Demons
A demon that has taken over a human corpse. Their personality is that of a demon, but some of them have inherited the memories of the original human. The head and face of the demon have different characteristics from those of a normal human (horns grow, patterns appear in the eyes, etc.). When a demon becomes a demon, it is weaker than when it was a demon, and demons often have no choice but to become demons in order to escape death. This does not apply to demons such as Denji, whose personality is human and whose normal head remains the same.
Existence that is neither a demon nor a demoness
These are beings like Denji, Samurai Sword, and Reze who are human in consciousness and appearance, but can transform into demons. There are very few precedents for this, so even among Devil Hunters, it is only a rumor. When transforming or disarming, the changed part melts like mud.
Certain movements trigger the transformation (pulling the starter rope on the chest to blow the engine, drawing the left hand that is sheathed to draw the sword, etc.). Like demons and demons, blood is an important source of energy. It is basically immortal, and can recover by ingesting blood, as well as by the specific actions described above. An ordinary demon can easily recover from a fatal injury, and Samurai Sword was immediately revived after being cursed to death by Aki. However, since resuscitation requires a supply of blood or having the above specific actions performed on your behalf, you will remain dead and defenseless without someone's intervention. If there is not enough blood, the transformation will stop in the middle of an attempt to transform again, or the armament will not appear even after performing certain actions, or only the damage will recover and the person will return to human form.
It was said that there was no specific name for it, but in fact its name was erased by the chainsaw man (but for some reason its existence did not disappear).
Contract
A promise made between a demon and a human. It is absolute, and when one of them keeps the contract, the other must also keep it, and if they fail to keep it, they die.
Devil Hunter
A profession to protect humans from the threat of demons. Basically, they fight by making a contract with a demon and borrowing its power, but there are also cases where a flesh-and-blood human fights with a weapon. In Section 4, demons and demons work directly as combatants. Devil hunters belonging to the Public Security Bureau have better benefits and salaries, but they are often injured or killed in the line of duty because they are often assigned to deal with cases that cannot be handled by private devil hunters.
Hell
The birthplace of demons. According to the angelic demons, demons appear in the human world after dying in hell, and even if they are killed in the human world, they are resurrected in hell as new individuals, thus repeating the cycle of reincarnation. The ability of the "demons of hell" allows humans to go there as well.
On the ground, there are grassy plains with ants and other creatures. In the sky above, there is a large number of differently shaped doors.
Characters
Main Characters
Denji
The main character of this work. Self-proclaimed 16-year-old. He is a boy who works as a non-regular Devil Hunter with Pochita, the Chainsaw Demon, to pay off his father's debts. One day, when he was murdered by yakuza who had made a contract with a "zombie demon," Pochita became his heart and regenerated his body, giving him the ability to transform into a chainsaw demon. After killing all the zombie demons and yakuza with his power, he was picked up by Makima and became a devil hunter belonging to the Public Safety Bureau.
His personality is very simple, fearless and confident. He doesn't like to think too much about things and is always loyal to his desires, but this is due to his harsh childhood experiences and his longing for a normal life and happiness, "to live and die normally. Since his childhood, he has never known any other way of life than that of a Devil Hunter, so he lacks cooperation and common sense, but he gradually grows to show compassion for others and think about his own way of life.
He is fond of Makima because she treated him as a human being for the first time, and his first goal is to defeat the gun demon and be recognized by her. As he continues his duties at the Public Safety Bureau, he discovers that the heart of Denji, aka Pochita, is being targeted by some Devil Hunters, and his life is threatened by assassins arranged by the governments of various countries. After many fierce battles and the deaths of those closest to him, Makima takes advantage of his exhaustion and causes him to have a mental breakdown, transforming him into a "Chainsaw Man" and going on a rampage, but with the help of Pochita and Power, he regains his Denji form. He once tried to run away, but after learning that "Chainsaw Man" is revered as a hero by the people, he confronted Makima again and won the battle in cooperation with Pochita. His fondness for Makima did not change until the very end, but as a way to make amends for her actions and those who lost their lives because of them, he chooses to kill her outright and bear her sins together by becoming one.
After all is said and done, she lives with Nyako and the dogs that Makima left behind, but she is left with Nayuta, the demon of domination that Makima reincarnated, by the shore and they live together.
Chainsaw Demon
Denji's transformed form as a demon. He transforms by pulling on the starter rope that grows out of his chest. When he transforms, his entire head takes the shape of a chainsaw with sharp fangs, and guide bars and saw chains sprout from his arms as if to pierce them. A round light that looks like an eye sometimes peeks out from a slit in the head like an exhaust port, but no other sensory organs can be seen. He is an immortal being who can be revived as many times as he wants by pulling the starter rope on his chest, but he also has a weakness in that he cannot regenerate his body when he runs out of blood, his energy source, and falls into a state of suspended animation. The blade actually appears by ripping open his body, and since Denji's blood is drained while he is transforming, he is prone to anemia.
In battle, in addition to his uncommon physical abilities, he excels at slashing targets by spinning the blades protruding from his body at high speed. In addition, through numerous battles, he was able to control the blades protruding from his body, move them in and out, and use the extended chains to move and restrain. It was later revealed that this form was only temporary, and that his true form was the hellish hero "Chainsaw Man.
Chainsaw Man
The true form of Pochita and the form that Denji transformed into when he was asked to help Makima after she was attacked by the Shore Force. When he transforms, an intestine-like thing comes out of his stomach and wraps around his neck like a scarf. There is no trace of Denji in his appearance, but he has transformed into a more powerful and vicious figure than in his normal form, and his fighting power has been greatly increased. According to Makima, he is "the hero of hell most feared by demons." He appears when demons call for help, but he is a mess, killing every demon that calls for his help and resurrecting himself to continue laying waste to them no matter how many times he is killed. Because of his activities, demons have various emotions such as anger, awe, and reverence towards him.
A further reason why he is feared by demons is that he has the ability to wipe out the demons he eats and their namesake beings from the world. The eaten being is erased from all records and personal memories, and Makima, the ruling demon and the one who has the "power to take control of things," is the only one who can remember, but even then he cannot fully recall. As a result of the demon with the name being eaten by the chainsaw man, things and concepts such as "Nazis," "World War II," "AIDS," "nuclear weapons," and "the sixth sense" do not exist in the world of the work.
He confronts Makima with an overwhelming strength that makes him unbeatable, but when people come to regard him as a hero and no longer fear him, he weakens and is defeated once. After he was weakened, he looked like the chainsaw demon he used to be, with only his arms equipped with armor.
Pochita
A chainsaw demon. Denji's sidekick, it looks like a puppy that resembles a chainsaw.
A chainsaw blade sprouts from its head to the tip of its nose, and is used as Denji's weapon and tool in the story.
When he was dying, he met Denji and was given his blood. He made a contract with Denji to help him in exchange for saving Pochita, and began to cooperate with him. Although he is a demon, he has a good relationship with Denji, and looks forward to Denji's stories about his dreams. When Denji is murdered, she asks him to show her his dreams in exchange for giving her his heart, and makes a contract with him again to become one with him. After that, he continues to live inside Denji's body and talks to Denji from his dreams.
After that, he continues to live in Denji's body and talks to Denji from his dreams. His true identity is that of a weakened form of the Hell Hero "Chainsaw Man," who was killed in a fierce battle with a powerful demon. He was weakened by a fierce battle with a powerful demon. When Makima nearly killed Denji, he fed his flesh to the residue of power left in Denji's blood, contributing greatly to the power and Denji's revival. In the final battle against Makima, as part of Denji's plan, he took the place of Denji and confronted Makima, leading Denji to victory.
"His dream was to be hugged by someone, but he was too strong and never achieved it until he met Denji. In episode 97, the final episode of the first part of the series, she saw into the heart of the demon of domination, who was also like her, and gave him advice in a dream: "Give him lots of hugs.
Public Security Police
Public Safety Anti-Demon-specific Section
This is one of the departments in the Public Safety Police that is designed to deal with demons. The benefits are generous, and many people are hired for the pay, but because of the nature of the division, many people die in the line of duty because they are confronted with powerful demons that cannot be dealt with in the private sector. It is said that most of those who belong to the organization die after a year or change jobs to become private sector devil hunters. In particular, the Anti-Demon-Specific 4 Division is considered an experimental unit, with demons and demons as its members. It was merged with Sections 1-3 after most of its members were killed in gun attacks during the production.
Makima
A woman who is Denji's boss. She is a devil hunter who reports directly to the Cabinet Secretary, and is feared by her colleagues and peers. She is basically kind and tolerant, but she also has a serious side. She is a mysterious and beautiful woman with a mysterious charm that attracts people, and is the object of Denji's admiration. Despite her position, she also enjoys watching movies and is a cheerful, self-paced person who loves spending time with her colleagues, friends, and pet dogs.
Although he is basically in charge of his team members, he is an extremely skilled Devil Hunter, and is skilled in various abilities and killing techniques due to the many demons he has contracted. He is also physically and mentally far beyond humanity, and is nearly immortal, but his origins and true intentions are kept secret and remain a mystery.
His true identity is that of the "Demon of Domination" who has made a contract with the Prime Minister. Although he is a demon, he is friendly to humans and says that he "likes humans," but this is "the same feeling that humans have for dogs," and he basically sees humans as indifferent and lowly. He has the ability to control those he considers inferior, and can manipulate them as he wishes by giving them orders, even if they are dead. He also has the power to "take control of things," and can remember, albeit imperfectly, beings that have been eaten by the chainsaw man.
He has an almost insane admiration for Chensorman, and is trying to create a "better world" by controlling his power and eliminating "things that would be happier if they were gone," but he also wants to be eaten by him and disappear. After a number of missions, he succeeds in disrupting Denji's mind and making the Chainsaw Man appear, but he is ultimately defeated by Denji's power intervention and reawakening. In the end, he was defeated by Denji, who had intervened and reawakened his power. In the end, his ability of immortality was nullified by the strange trick of becoming one with Denji's body, and he disappeared completely.
Not long after that, he was resurrected in China as a new individual named Nayuta. She was entrusted to Denji through Kishibe.
According to Pochita, Nayuta is hungry for family and equal relationships, and one of her goals is to create a world where she can build equal relationships with others by erasing the things that people fear.
Aki Hayakawa (Hayakawa Aki)
A man three years Denji's senior. He wears his hair tied high on the back of his head. He is fed up with Denji and Power, who are unmannerly and selfish, but he later comes to live with them at home as their guardian and supervisor. Makima is "a lifesaver," and he takes a liking to her. He used to live with his parents and his younger brother Taiyou, but the gun demon killed everyone except him, and he became a Devil Hunter to take revenge. He has a strong sense of remorse, especially for Taiyou, who lost her life because of Aki's words. He is passionate about his work and usually acts cold-hearted, but at heart he is kind and compassionate. He places a lot of trust in his buddy Himeno, who has influenced him to become a smoker and has pierced his ears. After Himeno was killed in the line of duty, he became buddies with an angel demon.
At the beginning of the story, he had made a contract with the Fox Demon and the Curse Demon, but later, when the Fox Demon gave up on him and he had only two years left in his life, he made a contract with the Future Demon as a new power. At that time, he was foretold that he would die a horrible death in the future.
As a flesh and blood human, he has high fighting ability and is good at swordsmanship. Since he no longer uses foxes and curses, he has switched his weapon to a sword made by an angel, and fights using the future vision of a future demon.
When the decisive battle with the gun demon is decided, he is afraid of losing Denji and his power, which has become irreplaceable as they live together, and asks not to participate in the mission, but is controlled by Makima's ability. In addition, the gun demon that suddenly invaded the city takes his body and turns him into a "gun demon," and he starts killing people in his clouded consciousness. He was eventually defeated by Denji, who died peacefully while continuing to see a vision of himself playing catch with his younger brother, but for Denji, who had already established a brotherly relationship with him, it was the worst way to die. After his death, the savings he left behind were split between Himeno's family and Denji according to his will.
Power
Denji's buddy. A "Blood Fiend". He was protected by Makima because he was relatively intelligent and rational for a demon, and was trained as a Devil Hunter. Her appearance is that of a woman in her late teens, with long flaxen hair, two antlers on the top of her head, and irises with a cross pattern. Her first name is "I," and she speaks with a mixture of old people's words, but in reality she is very childish, self-centered, and selfish. He is irresponsible and inconsistent in his words and actions. Because he was originally a demon, he has a high sense of pride and takes a discriminatory and coercive attitude toward humans, but he also has a selfish side that is weak against those stronger than him and strong against those weaker than him. However, he is weak to those who are stronger than him, and selfish to those who are weaker than him. The only cat he ever cares for is "Nyako," a cat he found and loves very much.
He has the ability to manipulate blood, and can create weapons by solidifying blood, as well as stop bleeding by manipulating his own and other people's blood (although he states that he is not good at manipulating other people's blood). He can also enhance his own power by sucking blood, but on the other hand, if he uses too much blood, he will become anemic and unable to move.
After he and Denji become buddies, he lives with Denji in Aki's house. After the confrontation with the Dark Demon, he survived with all his body parts intact, but fell into a state of depression for a while and temporarily regressed in spirit. However, under the care of Denji and Aki, she returned to her normal personality and became closer to them.
After Aki's death, she lives with Denji in his apartment, but is killed by Makima to make him bear the burden of being "complicit in Power's murder. However, he barely survives in Denji's body because Denji had fed him his own blood before, and when Pochita asks him to save Denji's life, he eats his flesh and revives in his original form as a blood demon and confronts Makima. At one point, he betrays Denji and tries to save himself from Makima, but she rescues him out of love for him, and even though she is mortally wounded, she protects Denji, the first friend she ever made. And then he disappeared.
In episode 83, it was revealed that he was a member of the Chensouman family.
Blood Demon
The original form of the demon of power. It has a predator-like appearance with feminine limbs, four arms, and exposed organs. It also has features similar to those of a demon, such as cross-shaped eyes, hair, and horns. His ability to manipulate blood is much more powerful than when he was a demon, and he can create weapons out of other people's blood and tear them apart from the inside of his body, or create a large number of weapons in the air and inundate people with them. His personality has not changed at all.
Himeno
Denji's senior and Aki's buddy. She is a beautiful woman with ship's eyes and a trademark eye patch. She has a cheerful and easy-going personality. She likes to drink, but she is a drunkard and her behavior increases when she gets drunk. Once, in a drunken stupor, she took Denji into her home and almost had sexual intercourse with him, but they became "friends" when she learned that they both had other lovers. She has a father and a younger sister, and it is shown that she sends money home to her parents.
He has made a contract with a ghost demon in exchange for his right eye, and is able to control invisible and untouchable arms at will. She has a long career as a Devil Hunter, and her five previous buddies have all been killed in the line of duty. She has a long history as a Devil Hunter, and all of her previous five buddies have been killed in the line of duty. Perhaps because of this, she had a dark and serious personality before she and Aki became buddies. She is fond of Aki and depends on her both in public and private life, but secretly hopes that Aki will quit the Public Safety Bureau and live a peaceful life. He is a smoker and made Aki, who was originally a nonsmoker, a smoker by force.
During the battle with the Samurai Sword, he sacrificed everything he had to the ghost demon to protect Aki, but the snake demon ate the ghost demon and his entire body disappeared.

He saved up his salary to buy a car (Fiat 500), but it was used by Power to hit the eldest son of an American assassin, and was wrecked in the ensuing battle. He was sent to hell with Denji and others, but survived with Gargari's protection and resigned from the Public Safety Bureau.
After resigning, he works at a hamburger chain restaurant called "Family Burger", but when he is harassed by the manager and the staff, he asks for help and calls in Chainsaw Man. "Denji's dream of going on a date with a woman leads him to be taken around by Chensouman, and he gets caught up in a fight between Makima and Chensouman. Afterwards, she and the restored Denji are hiding by the shore, and although she fears for her life, she is relieved to be away from her parents. A conversation with Denji during this time awakened his desire to become a chainsaw man.

After the attack on the Singularity Division, he trains with Denji in power in preparation for defeating the Samurai Sword.
"He has a theory that the Devil Hunters that demons fear are the ones with screwed-up brains, and his eccentric side stands out as he says his favorite things are drinking, women, and killing demons. When working, he acts calmly and ruthlessly, but at heart, he is a compassionate person who loves his friends.
He calls himself "the strongest Devil Hunter," and although his abilities have declined due to old age and alcohol, he is still the strongest Devil Hunter belonging to the Public Security Bureau aside from Makima, and has superhuman fighting strength. According to Pinzi, he has made contracts with the Claw Demon, the Knife Demon, and the Needle Demon, but it is said that there is nothing left in his body to pay for the contracts.
He has been wary of Makima since the beginning, and when Makima revived the Chainsaw Man, he led a riot squad and a group of Devil Hunters to attack her apartment, but failed. He hides Denji and Kobeni, who have regained self-awareness, and helps Denji in his final battle. After everything was settled, he left Nayuta, the reborn demon of domination that he had kidnapped from China, in Denji's care, and disappeared.
He used to be buddies with Kwangsi for more than 9 years, and was also in love with her and approached her, but gave up because she preferred women.
Beam
"A "shark demon. The top half of his head is shaped like a shark's head and dorsal fin, and his ears are more pointed than those of a human. When in battle, the entire head turns into a shark and attacks its target. It can also change into its original form for a short time. It can swim anywhere, including under the ground and walls. When on patrol, it hides in the ground with only the fin on the top of its head showing above ground. They are extremely violent and usually can't even talk to each other, but they seem to be madly in love with Makima and are loyal to her. As with other demons, she has said that she wants people to suffer, but she also shows angelic compassion and care.
He is a special kind of demon, and although he is not hostile to humans, he has the ability to suck the life out of anyone he touches, regardless of their intentions. He himself dislikes this ability because it "calls for death. He can also convert the life span he sucks up into a weapon, and Aki's new sword was made with his ability. The weapon becomes more powerful depending on the life span used, and is drawn from a halo when summoned. Underneath the mask, he looks almost human, but has two pairs of eyes.
Despite his violent name, he has an open and cheerful personality that hates conflict, and is often friendly. He seems to have retained a lot of his human brain, and remembers the school and set menu restaurant that the person he took over went to before he died, and remembers being saved by Makima, but he doesn't remember why the person died.
In the battle against the Dark Demon, he took off his mask and fought back with all his might, and though he fought hard with wounds, he was defeated and died.

However, Tomono's words strangely set his resolve, and from then on he works to complete his work alone, muttering "I am immortal" as if possessed. In the department store, he tries to kill Kwangsi and the others by surprise using a gun, but is unable to do so and is thrown out of the window. He survives by falling on the roof of a car, but after that, he is not seen again, probably due to Cosmo's ability, since the news broadcasted him crying and shouting "Halloween".
The Old Man with the Doll
"An assassin from Germany who is also known as "Santa Claus. A small, old man with balding hair except for the front and side of his head. He has a strabismus with his left eye turned outward. He has a contract with several demons, but the full extent of his contract is unknown. Kishibe is wary of him, saying, "If Santa Claus uses demons, we're finished. His true identity is that of a true Santa Claus. The German Santa Claus was merely a puppet who acted as a diplomat and contractor. He has two self-proclaimed identities: he has a contract with a puppet demon, and he himself is a puppet demon. She also has a contract with a cursed demon, but the conditions are different from Aki's.
In addition to transforming and manipulating large numbers of people into dolls, she can also create "exquisite dolls" that are more human-like with advance preparation. Since the elaborate dolls are judged as human, they can make contracts with demons and pay them. His real job is to kill Makima, so he offers Denji to the Dark Demon as the heart of his chainsaw, and in exchange he gets a piece of the Dark Demon's flesh to take in and power up. After that, he showed his power by repairing his body in the dark and collecting doll parts to become a large doll himself.
After gaining the power of darkness, he attacked Makima and hunted her down. However, he is gradually hunted down by Quansi's bow and arrow attacks and Denji's suicide attack in which he burns his own body under the name of "Power of Light". According to Santa Claus, he is the "oldest devil hunter," and he and Kishibe used to be buddies. "He has a theory that the key to living a happy life in this world is to live in ignorance and stupidity, and advises Kishibe, who is planning to kill Makima, to back off. He was torn apart and killed by a dark demon in Hell, but was revived by Tsugihagi on Earth and fought with Denji to defeat Santa Claus. After defeating Santa Claus, Denji's head was cut off as soon as he announced the end of their fight, but Makima appeared soon after and with a flash of her sword, her head was cut off along with the demons, and she died in front of her former buddy Kishibe.
He later reappears with his memories rewritten as a member of the Public Safety Anti-Monster Section 5 to fight against Denji.
He was buddies with Kishibe in his youth, but his appearance has hardly changed since then.
What?
Quan Xi's transformed form as a demon. From his appearance and abilities, it is assumed that he is an "archer demon. He transforms by taking out an arrow hidden in the socket of his right eye. It can fire a large number of arrows at high speed, and has a very high eradication power.
Pinzi

She looks like a girl with black hair in a ponytail. At the end of her ponytail is a deformed monster-like face, which moves and changes its expression autonomously.
She is fascinated by Quansi, and because she is highly intelligent, she has the most opportunities to talk with Quansi. He has a quiet personality, but his level of rationality is not clear, as he chews through a plate of sushi. Like Pinzi, she was killed by a dark demon and turned into a doll during her fight with Santa Claus.
Cosmo
A demoness who follows Quan Xi. He has a very distinctive appearance: he wears his bouncy hair in a bun, his brain and eyeballs hang from the right side of his head, part of his hanging brain is tied into a ribbon, and he has a heart pattern on his iris. She has a lively personality with lots of expressions and movements, but her communication is inadequate, as she only says "Halloween. When she speaks to you, if you ask her "Halloween" back, she will continue to call out "Halloween" or add "Halloween" to the end of her words.
Her true identity is that of a space demon who possesses all the knowledge of the entire universe, and can bring others into a mental world like a library. In the mental world, he speaks in an intelligent and enlightened manner. (Those who are exposed to it will only be able to think about Halloween until the day they die, and like Cosmo, communication will become ineffective and they will only be able to say "Halloween"). It is a relatively human-friendly demon, and has contracts with many other humans besides Aki, and can summon heads in exchange for skin or body parts. In battle, she attacks by slashing with her claws and biting her enemies with her head. According to Himeno, he is a man-eating demon, and only men with good looks are allowed to use his head.
He's a powerful demon, but he doesn't seem to like the idea of samurai swords and rests, which are neither demons nor demons, and he misses them without swallowing them. He bites at the Samurai Sword at Aki's command, but is so disgusted with it that he gives up on Aki.
Cursed Demon
A demon with whom Aki, Santa Claus, and others have a contract. Aki calls him Curse. By hitting the opponent's body with a nail and paying the price, the ability is activated and the opponent is cursed to death. Aki carries a sword shaped like a nail that contains his power, and he uses it to fight when he uses his ability. Aki has signed a contract with the Samurai Sword, in which he will stab the sword three times to curse and kill the target in exchange for his life span. He demonstrated his power in a fight with the Samurai Sword, but the Samurai Sword was quickly revived by Sawatari.
Later, he reappeared as a contract demon of Santa Claus. Unlike Aki, Santa Claus possesses an ordinary shaped nail that contains his power, and has made a contract with him to curse and kill the target in exchange for a large price (the price after the third stab is some sensation in his fingers; the price after the fourth stab is not clear). The power of the curse was demonstrated in Denji's assassination. He demonstrated his power in the assassination of Denji, but Denji was revived by Aki.
Future Demon
A demon newly contracted by Aki after the terrorist attack on the gun. In addition to Aki, there are two other people in the Public Security Bureau who have contracted with him, each for two eyes, a sense of taste and touch, and half of his life span. It looks like a humanoid tree, with three pairs of eyes on its head and a large eye in its abdominal cavity, and can see the future of anyone who puts their head in its cavity until the end. "It can see the future of anyone who puts his or her head inside.
He is strangely excited and often shouts the words "Future is the best" in a lively manner. At first glance, he seems to have a friendly and frank personality, but judging from the heavy price and the reason why he likes Aki, he is still a vicious demon.
The ability allows Aki to see a few seconds into the future, but it is only a "vision," and it is up to him to decide how to deal with future events. Also, sometimes the future demon will show her the future on its own.
Ghost demon
A demon that Himeno has made a contract with. Himeno calls him Ghost. The main body has the appearance of a woman's face with eyes and mouth sewn together, and a large number of bony arms sprouting from a body overgrown with flowers, and Himeno borrows one of the arms. Himeno converses with her through the mouth on the palm of her hand, but there is no description of the main body uttering a word. Since its eyes are blinded, it senses the fear of humans and moves accordingly. When Sawatari used him to fight Aki, he gave her a cigarette that Himeno had left behind, and when Aki saw it and overcame her fear, she cut off his head and disappeared.
Snake Demon

When he uses his ability, he can turn anyone he touches into a puppet, and those who are touched by the puppet also become puppets. Even just touching their clothes will change them, and once they are changed, they cannot return to human form. However, the effect only works on humans. The face of the person who becomes a doll literally changes like a doll and loses its expression, and parts of the body can also be transformed. If the subject is trained in advance to feel emotions that only humans can feel, it is possible to create an elaborate doll that is more human-like and can be manipulated at will by Santa Claus. As a powerful demon, it is believed that a strong contract is required, but Santa Claus has used quite a few people as puppets. It also has the disadvantage that it cannot be manipulated unless it is close to the magician.
Stone Demon
A demon that Kusakabe has a contract with. It looks like a gargoyle. The details of the contract are unknown. When he uses his ability, he can turn the target into a stone statue by blowing on it through a ring made with his fingers on a magic circle. Demon of Darkness
A demon that Santa Claus had a contract with. In exchange for bringing Chainsaw's heart, he offered Santa Claus a piece of his own flesh. It looks like a humanoid deformity whose body is made up of multiple mummies wearing a cloak. He emerged from one of the countless doors in the sky above Hell, along with a flower path made of severed astronauts, and instantly severed the arms of those who had been taken to Hell by the demons of Hell. According to Pinzi, he is one of those "transcendent beings who have never experienced death" and "a demon with a name of fundamental fear that is much worse than a gun". He has amazing powers such as covering his surroundings with darkness in an instant, and attacking targets invisibly without touching them (punching holes in the wind, cutting them into pieces, twisting and breaking their bodies, making blood spurt out just by looking at them, etc.). He also controls a huge sword with four bells on the tsuba as his only visible means of attack, and he is immune to physical attacks, as Denji's chainsaw blade did not hit him.
Other Demons
Gun Demon
A demon that has a great influence in the work. It appeared 13 years ago, on the day of a large-scale terrorist attack using guns in the United States, at a time when fear of guns was growing worldwide due to conflicts. It landed in various parts of the world and killed about 1.1 million people in about seven minutes. According to the description in the film, it caused enormous damage, such as blowing up houses and collapsing cities, which could be called a natural disaster. The demon has since disappeared, but its influence still lingers, as the appearance of the gun demon has increased the fear of demons themselves and made them stronger in general.
It is a humanoid form, roughly larger than a mountain, with a large number of automatic weapons on its back and arms, and legs made of gun belts. The head resembles a pistol, and the chest, with its exposed bones, is covered with a large number of human faces. It has the ability to aim and shoot at targets within a specified range based on their month of birth, gender, and age.
There are pieces of flesh scattered around the world, like ammunition that was dropped off when it once appeared. These pieces of flesh can be ingested by demons to make them more powerful, or they can be used to search for the location of the demon's main body in order to gather and regenerate. It seems that the demon is trying to get to Chainsaw's heart through a contracted person, but given the facts mentioned below, it is more likely that this is a lie made up by someone who deals in guns.
In fact, it has already been defeated by someone, and the main body has been divided and possessed in several countries. In addition, the guns that are currently available illegally were not created by the gun demon, but manufactured and sold by humans, and were tolerated in order to maintain the fear of guns. As a result, the gun demons are working as a deterrent, in essence acting like nuclear weapons in the real world.
In volume 9, the President of the United States makes a contract to kill Makima by reviving the U.S. possession (20% of the total) in exchange for one year of the people's life expectancy. He lands in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture,[7] and invades and kills Makima, slaughtering a large number of people along the way, but this does not prove effective against Makima, who is capable of reviving an inexhaustible amount of people. Although he was defeated in a combined attack by Makima, who used the demons under his control, he took over Aki's corpse and made him a "gun demon" for life. However, his consciousness was mixed with Aki's, and when he left Makima and went to Aki's house, he got into a battle with Denji, who transformed into him and stabbed him to death with a chainsaw.

He later reappears in the battle against Samurai Sword and the final battle with Makima.
Muscle Devil
A demon that kidnapped and manipulated a civilian girl. It has the ability to control the muscles it comes into contact with, and can manipulate people and change its own size. At first glance, it looks like an adorable caterpillar with one eye. It tries to trick Denji into killing it, but is caught in the act and dies.

After being temporarily left in the care of Kishibe when he visits Aki's grave, he has grown fond of Kishibe as well.
Kobeni's car
A car that Kobeni bought with his salary. Commonly known as the Kobeni car. It ran over the eldest of the three American brothers (albeit driven by Power), cushioned Kishibe after he was knocked off a building in the battle against Quansi, and practically stopped Santa Claus in the battle against him. In the battle against Santa Claus, he practically stopped Santa Claus. Because of his success, he was ranked seventh in the popularity poll, narrowly beating out his owner, Kobeni. However, his main body was wrecked and burned in the battle, and he appeared in the popularity poll as a rusty figure buried in the grass.
Denji's Father
Appears only in recollections. He was thought to have committed suicide by hanging himself due to his debt woes, but it was later revealed that he had died after being hit by a counterattack when he tried to kill Denji while drunk. This was a big negative memory for Denji, and he had unconsciously sealed it away.
